Blackout is the deepest, darkest black mica powder we could find - the kind of color that feels like the lights just went out and you’re wrapped in total darkness. It’s bold, intense, and a little mysterious, like the moment before your eyes adjust and the world turns shadowy and still. Perfect for adding drama, depth, and that “can’t see your hand in front of your face” kind of intrigue to any creation.

Color Testing Notes

Blackout Mica is one of my absolute favorite blacks to work with. It’s the ultimate deep, dark black - rich, bold, and beautifully opaque. It blends so effortlessly in cold process soap and gives that perfect, dramatic black every single time. When I want the deepest shade possible, I use up to 3 teaspoons per pound of oils, and the result is pure midnight magic.

Use Rate

  • CP Soap: 1-2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
  • MP Soap: .5 teaspoon per pound of soap base.

More or less can be added to achieve your desired color.

⚠️ Warning: Titanium dioxide (airborne, unbound particles of respirable size) is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause cancer. Exposure to titanium dioxide may increase the risk of cancer. Once incorporated into a liquid or solid base it is no longer airborne and falls off the Prop 65 list.
